Looking for some fun, engaging Spanish Christmas/Hanukkah/New Year’s activities? These 50+ Spanish Christmas activities digital flashcards from World Language Café will teach your students holiday vocabulary through listening, spelling, and writing practice.

Listening and Spelling: Students listen to a holiday word spelled out and then select the correct letters of the word to spell it out in the written form. On the next slide, they see an image of what word they spelled out, listen to the whole word, and then type the word in Spanish and in English.

Matching: As a review of the previous activity, students listen to a word or look at the image and then drag and drop it into a box with the matching holiday word.

MISS SEÑORITA

Scavenger hunts are a great game for students to practice vocabulary. This Spanish Christmas, Hanukkah, and Winter Vocabulary Scavenger Hunt Activity from Miss Señorita is super fun!

First, the teacher posts half-sheets with vocabulary on them around the room. Next, students start at any half-sheet near them, look at the clipart picture, and write the vocabulary word on their paper. Then, they find the vocabulary word around the room, walk over to it, see the next clipart, and repeat. Students get to get up out of their seats, rather than simply match vocabulary pictures and words on a worksheet. Some students will race each other to see who can finish first and others will take their leisurely time. The last verb students get to will lead them back to their first verb, so students can start anywhere in the loop of verbs.

A digital (Google Slides) version of this game is also included.

LA PROFE PLOTTS

This engaging winter-themed Present Tense Digital Mystery Picture Activity from La Profe Plotts is a fun and festive way for your Spanish students to practice conjugating regular present tense verbs this winter! Students will get a ton of practice conjugating regular present tense verbs as they fill in the blanks of sentences and type their answers in a Google Sheet. Best part? This activity is self-checking! If a student’s answer is correct, part of the wintery hidden picture will be revealed. If a student’s answer is incorrect, the picture will not change.
